Summer Vacation Coding Education Program for Children from Multicultural Families

 

The ASEAN Culture House(ACH) is hosting a summer vacation coding education program to promote a greater understanding and instill a sense of pride in their heritage among children from multicultural families with a parent from the ASEAN region. It includes a variety of hands-on experiences that use coding to enhance children’s skills and competencies and foster future talents. With this program, the ASEAN Culture House continues its role as a welcoming center for multicultural families.

·Target Participants: First-to-third-year primary school children of multicultural families and their parents who are registered at the Multicultural Family Support Center in Busan (20 groups / event).

ASEAN Cooking Club,Together with the Dong-gu Multicultural Family Support Center in Busan

 

In August, the ASEAN Culture House, in cooperation with the Dong-gu Multicultural Family Support Center in Busan, will conduct a trial-run of a Korean cooking class for ASEAN residents in Korea. The class is designed to provide women of multicultural families with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with Korean food culture and learn how to prepare both traditional and basic dishes.


·Date:2018.8.2.-8.23. Every Thursday 11:00~14:00

·Venue: Cultural Experience Zone (3rd floor), ACH

·Target Participants:20 female ASEAN residents of multicultural families who are registered at the Multicultural Family Support Center in Busan.

2018 Asia Traditional Orchestra Cooperative Lecture, The Harmony of ASEAN

 

Following the passionate response from the audience to the recent performance to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the ASEAN Culture House, the Asia Traditional Orchestra (ATO) will pay the ACH another visit. Their visit will include a lecture where members of the audience will receive an introduction to playing an instrument and listen to traditional melodies of the ten ASEAN member countries and Korea.
