New Publication: ‘100 Cultural Symbols of Korea’
“100 Cultural Symbols of Korea” has recently been published by Discovery Media, with financial assistance from the Korea Foundation.
This book, which features the 100 most prominent cultural symbols of Korea, as selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2006, will be helpful for general readers to acquire a better understanding of Korea and Korean culture, through detailed explanations and full-color photographs.
During the course of its 5,000-year history, the people of Korean have d their own language, writing system, arts, culture, foods, and spiritual world. In this regard, the 100 symbols described in this publication provide readers with a unique perspective and insight into the roots of the identity, lifestyle, culture, and thought of Korea and its people, which remain evident in modern-day Korean society.
