Prof. Fen Osler Hampson, Director of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Carleton University in Canada, will visit Korea from May 10 to May 16 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.
 
 
The Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) was established in 1965 at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. It is a founding member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) and widely considered to be Canada's premier school for the study of International Affairs. Since 2002, as a Director of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) Dr. Hampson, who is a specialist in External Affairs and International Trade has provided analyses on External Affairs, International Trade and international problems. Also, he has an interest in Korean foreign policy issues. So, it is expected that visiting Korea for the first time will provide the guest a good opportunity to gain a more in-depth understanding of Korea’s foreign policy issues and related international security issues.
 
During his stay in Korea, he will visit Seoul National University and the Security Management Institute (SMI), the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS), The Sejong Institute, and Yonsei Universityto discuss ways to promote cooperation in the fields of foreign policy and international security issues affecting Korea and Canada. He will also deliver a lecture at Korea University on the current global economic crisis: what will it mean for the global order and efforts to restructure international institutions. Also, he will visit the National Museum of Korea, the Cheonggyecheon and cultural and historic sites in Gyeongju.
