Prof. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Naemi, Director of Evaluation of Qatar University, will visit Korea from June 7 to June 13, 2009 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

Qatar University, the only national university in Qatar, has been a leading institution for advanced education in Qatar. With seven colleges, the university offers over 60 specializations (the widest range in Qatar) and has more than 7,400 students registered, equaling almost one-sixth of the Qatari population. Since its establishment in 1973, it has produced many leaders in various fields of Qatari society. Prof. Al-Naemi became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Qatar University in 1997 and has been working as the Director of Evaluation of the university since 2004.

During his stay in Korea, Prof. Al-Naemi will visit several prominent universities in Korea, such as Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Hanyang University and Pohang University of Science and Technology in order to share experiences on strategic planning and quality assurance of a university and discuss ways to enhance collaboration between universities and local industries. He will also meet the Secretary-General of the Korea-Arab Society to share opinions on the promotion of mutual exchanges between Qatar and Korea.

Furthermore, he will have opportunities to see diverse aspects of Korea by visiting museums and historical sites in Seoul and Gyeongju and by touring industrial facilities of POSCO and Samsung Electronics, etc.
