Prof. Branko Kovacevic, Rector of Belgrade University, Serbia will visit Korea from June 8 to 14 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.
After being established in 1808, Belgrade University celebrated its 200th anniversary last year. It is a leading institution in Serbia with a rich history and is on a large scale of 31 departments, eight research institutions and 4,289 professors. It opened a Korean studies class last year.
During his stay, Prof. Kovacevic will meet with Presidents of several universities including Hanyang University, Hankuk University for Foreign Studies, Seoul National University, Sogang University and Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTEC) to discuss ways to promote academic exchanges and collaboration with them. He will also get a chance to visit Changdeokgung Palace, the National Museum of Korea, the National digital library, Cheonggyecheon Museum, POSCO, and historical attractions in Gyeongju city for a first-hand opportunity to appreciate Korea’s past and present.
