[Invitation] Program for U.S. Youth to Visit Korea

  • Date Jun 08, 2009

Invitation Program for U.S. Youth to Visit Korea

The Korea Foundation will host an invitation program under which about 100 high school students from the U.S. will visit Korea on August 9-22, 2009.

During the Korea-U.S. summit talks, held in Washington, D.C. in 2008, the two presidents pledged to support an expansion of youth exchange, which was duly noted in their joint statement. This program thus seeks to promote future-oriented relations between the next-generation leaders of Korea and the U.S., through exchange visits and personal interaction.

The activities in Korea will include informational presentations on Korea-U.S. relations, Korean culture, and Korea’s contemporary society, along with visits to cultural/historic sites. Eligible high school students will have to submit an application to the Council on International Education Exchange (CIEE), the U.S. partner agency for this program.

For additional information about program eligibility and application procedures, please visit the CIEE web site <www.ciee.org>.
