[Invitation] Ms. Ilze Gailite Holmberg, Managing Director of the National Film Centre of Latvia

Ms. Ilze Gailite Holmberg, Managing Director of the National Film Centre of Latvia will visit Korea from June 29 to July 5 by invitation of the Korea Foundation.

The National Film Centre of Latvia was established on December 23, 1991, as a state institution under the Ministry of Culture. The organization’s main ives are to administer the Government's financial support to Latvian films, to preserve the national audio-visual heritage, to promote Latvian films abroad and to cooperate with relevant international and national organizations.

A graduate of the University of Lativia with a Humanitarian Arts degree, Ms.  Holmberg is currently the Managing Director of the National Film Centre of Latvia (NFC), and also the Chairperson of the Baltic Films collaboration platform, and a member of the Board of the Baltic Film and Media School in Estonia. In 1999 she was part of the team that established a TELE SEE network and produced and coordinated more than 50 TV programs.

During her stay, she will visit and have discussions with the Korea Film Archive, Korea Film Council (KOFIC), PUSAN International Film Festival, Baekdudaegan Film Company to discuss the ways to improve their relationships. She will also have the opportunity to visit the Korea National University of Arts, the KOFIC Namyangju Studios, Korea Film Museum, National Museum of Korea, Changdeokgung Palace, Leeum Museum of Art, and various cultural attractions in Gyeongju.
