The Korea Foundation and the Training Center for Traditional Culture at the Korean National University of Cultural Heritage, jointly organized a Korean Culture Program for International Students held from 7 July 2010 until 9 July 2010. The program took place under the theme “Taste and Aesthetics of Korea’s Traditional Tea”, where participated 29 foreign students studying in Korea’s 15 Universities and 7 students of the Korean National University of Cultural Heritage. The program sought to widen the international students' understanding of Korean Culture, by offering lectures about the history of taditional Korean tea, methods of processing tea and the philosophy of tea and by experiencing Korean tea etiquette and pottery-making. The discussions between Korean and international students participated in the program also represented an opportunity to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship. One participant mentioned that “Through this opportunity where I experienced Koreans and Korean Culture, my negative impressions that I had when I first came to Korea were totally changed."
