Korean War Memorial Concert
“The Voice of Korea”
-Avery Fisher Hall, LINCOLN CENTER IN NEW YORK-
The Korea Foundation is supporting the Korean War memorial concert “The Voice of Korea” to be held in Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center in New York on August 26.
At this event sponsored by the Korea Foundation and produced by PMG Korea, soprano Kyoung-ran Kim, countertenor Sae-jin Kim, and Tenor Dong-ho Shin will be among the performers and they will each be accompanied by The New York Symphony Orchestra. The Bohemian Singers, an 11-person all-male group, will sing traditional operatic fare as well as folk songs and Korean oboist Eun Kyung Ahn will also perform a Korean traditional song. The pianist Carissa Kim and the Korean-German Women's Chorus are also expected to add diversity and a Korean flavor to the concert.
The memorial concert pays tribute to the American soldiers who fought in the Korean War and voices gratitude for the efforts and sacrifices made by Americans, some of whom will be invited to attend the concert.
