Mr. Kunagahalli Sampatiengar Ramkumar, an editor and senior journalist of the Arab News, of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is visiting Korea (September 27-October 2) as a guest of the Korea Foundation. Arab News is a Saudi/English-language daily newspaper, founded in 1975, with a daily circulation of about 55,000.
Mr. Ramkumar is a prominent journalist who has covered political, economic, and cultural matters for the Arab News over the past 27 years. He has already published articles about Korea and plans to prepare a special feature on the G20 Summit in Seoul, following his visit. His articles are expected to improve an understanding about Korea’s society and culture among readers in Saudi Arabia and the Arab region.
During his stay, Mr. Ramkumar will meet with his Korean counterparts at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission, the Institute of Middle East Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit, and Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). He will also visit Gyeongbok Palace, the National Folk Museum of Korea, and N-Seoul Tower, along with attending a NANTA performance and touring the cultural attractions of Gyeongju, for a firsthand opportunity to experience Korea’s past and present.
