1. Program ive
In response to the growing significance of online resources for education and research purposes, the Korea Foundation provides program support to eligible universities to offset the subscription fees that are required to access online Korean studies e-Resources. This program thus serves benefit Korea-related scholars and students, as well as complements The Foundation’s materials distribution Program.

2. Eligible Applicants
The eligible Institutions include four-year degree universities that maintain at least one of the following: a Center for Korean studies, Korean studies department, Korean studies or Korean language programs, or East Asian programs with a Korean component.

3. Amount of Support
Up to fifty percent of the total amount of the subscription fee for accessing Korean studies e-resources. The maximum program support per university is US$5,000.

※ The Foundation will decide on the final amount of the Grant, by taking into consideration the criteria in Section 5, “Selection of Recipients.”

For the purposes of this Program, the applicable e-resources include online databases, e-journals, e-books, and other online resources that are offered by public institutions or private parties, such as e-Korean Studies (KISS, KSI e-book, KoreaA2Z, Kdatabase, KPjournal, Korean History and Culture Research Database, History Culture Series, LawnB), Kyobo Scholar, newspapers, e-articles, New-Nonmun, RISS International, etc.

4. Application
Please complete the program application form and submit it to The Foundation, by e-mail (e-resources@kf.or.kr) or mail that is postmarked no later than January 31, 2013. Please note that we cannot accept applications by fax. The selected recipients will be individually notified by March 2013.

※ The subscription fee negotiations with the DB vendors should be finalized before the application.

5. Selection of Recipients
The Korea Foundation’s screening committee will decide on the priority and amount of program assistance for an applicant by taking into consideration the following criteria: the number of Korean studies scholars and students of an applicant; extent of usage of Korean studies e-resources; and diversity of grantees for the Program, in terms of country and region.

※ Institutions which received program assistance in 2012 need to submit an annual report by January 31, 2013, since the Korea Foundation will evaluate the extent of usage of Korean studies e-resources with the annual report.

6. Annual Report
An Annual Report is a requirement for all those who receive funding under this Program and is due one month after an institution’s Grant expires. The Annual Report form is available from The Korea Foundation.
