‘Koreana’ Spring Issue: Shedding Light on Korea's Path to Modernization

The spring issue of Koreana, the comprehensive Korean culture and arts quarterly, has been published.
Commemorating the centennial of the March 1 Independence Movement, the Korean culture and art community is actively engaging in retrospection on Korea as it stood at the threshold of modernization. Reflecting the current atmosphere, Koreana, in its special features, deals with changes that affected the nation’s politics, society, culture, and daily lives of people in the early modern era, and delves into the contemporary meaning of such changes.
The issue also offers engaging and touching stories of film score composer Dalpalan; Yu Pil-mu, a master of traditional calligraphy brush making; and Cevzet Tam, a young Turkish musician enchanted by haegeum, the traditional Korean instrument. Koreana is also available online at www.koreana.or.kr.
