Korean Dakgalbi Rated Second Best Stir-fry Dish in the World
Dakgalbi, the Korean dish of stir-fried chicken, has been selected as the second-best stir-fried food in the world by TasteAtlas, an experiential online travel guide that introduces more than 10,000 dishes and restaurants around the world.
According to the guide’s “50 Best Rated Stir-fry Dishes in the World” for 2023, dakgalbi scored 4.7 points out of 5 with 84 percent of survey participants responding favorably to the dish. Other Korean foods on the list are japchae, a fried glass noodle and vegetable dish that sometimes includes the addition of meat (18th); nakji bokkeum, stir-fried octopus (30th); and dakbokkeumtang made of chicken pieces, potatoes, onions, and carrots (37th).
First place was claimed by phat kaphrao, a traditional Thai dish that scored 4.8 points. Third place was taken by the Ethiopian dish tibs, fourth by Peruvian lomo saltado, and fifth by Chinese beef chow fun.
