Dr. Ju Jeong-suk, a lecturer at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Prof. Sun, Ke Zhi, History Department, Fudan University in China will give their presentations at the forum designed to promote exchange and build a network between Korean studies scholars and students.

Symposium on Suh Jae-pil at George Washington University

Korean Studies Workshop for Vietnamese Local Government Leaders
May 7-10, 2008
An informational workshop on Korea will be held to provide senior-ranking officials of local governments in Vietnam, who are involved with Korea-related matters, with an overview of Korea’s society, culture and history, and key bilateral issues.

Scholars from Hong Kong, China, South Korea, and North Korea will gather to examine the 60-year history of the South Korean government and international relations surrounding the Korean Peninsula, and to discuss future prospects, in regard to economic, social, and political concerns.

Fourth Forum for Chinese Doctoral Candidates of Korean Studies
May 13-14, 2008
Doctoral candidates of Korean Studies, mainly from Shanghai, Beijing, and the three Northeastern provinces of China, will gather to discuss Northeast Asian security cooperation and inter-Korean relations, and attend special lectures delivered by their academic advisers.

‘Meme Trackers’ Exhibition at Songzhuang Art Museum, China
May 14-June 14, 2008
About 120 artworks by 32 young Korean artists will be exhibited in China to introduce the ways in which contemporary Korean art deals with the issue of tradition.

Spring Field Trip for Graduate Studies and Field Research Fellows
