4th Seoul-Washington Forum

The Korea Foundation and the Brookings Institution co-organized the Seoul-Washington Forum in Washington D.C. with the attendance of Korean and American leaders representing the two countries’ political, business, academic, social, cultural and press sectors.

Special Film Screenings

The KF Cultural Center presented six films made by Danish film directors or about the Danish people.

Exhibition on Contemporary Art of Zimbabwe
May 4~14, 2010
An exhibition displaying the contemporary art of Zimbabwe through some 50 artworks of various genres including painting, architecture and ceramics was held for the first time in Korea. It introduced diverse aspects of the contemporary art of Zimbabwe which had been known to Korea only for its ‘Shona’ sculpture.

RAUK Annual Workshop
May 6~7, 2010
The Russian Association of Universities for Korean Studies (RAUK) held its annual workshop at the Irkutsk State University in Irkutsk, Russia. Established in 2005 by six universities with regional representation to promote Korean Studies in Russia with support from the Korea Foundation, RAUK has organized an annual workshop with the attendance of its member universities, the Korea Foundation and advisors to develop, implement and check joint projects.

Fluid Form I: Contemporary Art and Urban Design from Arab Countries

As part of the third Arab Cultural Festival, an exhibition was held at the KF Cultural Center to feature urban topography in Arab countries and contemporary art to express human images in such space.

‘Dasrum’ Performed in Russia and Tajikistan
May 19~27, 2010
‘Dasrum’ performed traditional Korean music and creative music based on traditional music in an event to showcase premium Korean products in Moscow in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Russia. The traditional Korean music band also performed in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

9th Korea-India Forum
May 24~25, 2010
The Korea-India Forum was held with the attendance of leaders representing the two countries political, business, academic, social, cultural and press sectors. The participants exchanged opinions on major issues of mutual concern and strengthened their network.

Chinese Youths Invited to Korea
May 24~June 1, 2010
A total of 147 young Chinese were invited to Korea to lay the groundwork for future-oriented Sino-South Korean relations through the expansion of exchange between the two countries’ youths.

1st Korea-Australia Dialogue
May 26~27, 2010
The Korean and Australian foreign ministries, the Korea Foundation, the Korea-Australia Foundation and the Australia-Korea Foundation co-organized the Korea-Australia Dialogue 2010, a 1.5-track dialogue both at a governmental and non-governmental level, to enhance mutual understanding and exchange opinions on pressing global issues.

11th Korea-Russia Forum
May 29~June 1, 2010
The Korea-Russian Forum was held on the topic of 20th anniversary of establishing of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Russia: Experience, Achievements and Prospects. The two countries’ leaders representing political, business, academic, social, cultural and press sectors participated in the forum to exchange their opinions on major bilateral issues and to strengthen their network.
