Korea-Japan Exchange Festival

The 2012 Korea-Japan Exchange Festival presents a variety of cultural events in Tokyo and Seoul, including traditional and fusion-style Korean performing arts presentations and activities to promote the Korean language and alphabet. The annual festival began in 2005.

Worldwide Korean Speech Contests

To celebrate Hangeul Day, October 9, Korean speech contests are held in six countries, induding Hungary (Korean Cultural Center, October 5), Belarus (International Friendship Association, October 6), Mongolia (Mongolian Labor Institute, October 9), Azerbaijan (Nizami Cinema, October 12), Malaysia (conference room of the Korean Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, October 19), and Belgium (conference room of the Korean Embassy in Brussels, October 27). Those who have passed preliminary rounds give presentations on various Korea-related topics.

2012 Hangeul Day Celebration in India

The Jawaharlal Nehru University hosts a series of events to celebrate Hangeul Day, including a Korean food festival, Korean film screenings, Korean essay writing contest, seminars, and various programs to promote Korea and Hangeul among its students as well as local residents.

Celebration of Korea-Africa Diplomatic Relations

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Korea-Gabon diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of Korea-Angola ties, the Korea Foundation presents joint performances of B-boy and fusion gugak groups, as well as joint workshops and performances with local performing arts groups in the two African countries.

Exhibition of Korean Treasures in Stuttgart

The itinerary exhibition ''Korea Rediscovered—Treasures from German Museums," featuring 116 Korean artifacts from the collections of 10 German museums, makes its last stop in Stuttgart. The exhibition has toured four of the 10 participating German museums over two years.

Korean Lacquer Art Exhibiton in MUnster

The first of its kind, this special exhibition presents a selection of Korean lacquerware works with mother-of-pearl inlay dated to the Goryeo (918-1392) and Joseon (1392-1910) periods, from Korean, Japanese and European collections.
