Recruitment of Visiting Professors of Korean Language/Studies

Recruitment of Visiting Professors of Korean Language/Studies

The Korea Foundation will accept applications for visiting professors of Korean Language/Studies for assignments at universities abroad. In an effort to expand access to Korea-related lecture courses, since 2004, the Foundation has been recruiting Korea-related scholars to serve as visiting professors at overseas universities that have difficulty in hiring qualified faculty for Korean Language/Studies courses. This year, the Foundation dispatches 42 visiting professors to 40 universities in 32 countries around the world. During the current recruitment process, visiting professors will be selected to provide lectures related to Korea at such universities as the Free University of Tbilisi, in Georgia, and the National University of La Plata, in Argentina. (For additional information, please refer to the “Notice” section of the Foundation’s homepage: www.kf.or.kr) In 2014, the Foundation’s visiting professors will be selected and assigned to those university institutions where it has been rather difficult to establish a regular Korean Language/Studies program, most often due to a lack of qualified lecturers/instructors. As such, the visiting professors will offer Korea-related courses to local students as well as make efforts to build a framework for the creation of Korean Studies programs and departments at the host university. For those Korean Language/Studies scholars who are up to this challenge, you are welcome to apply for consideration.
  • Expected to receive applications from the fourth week of February, 2014
