The 2014 KF Hope Sharing Art Project for Rural Communities program activities are being undertaken in Seogwipo, Jejudo Island, and Shanghai, China. In late October, the Foundation gave elementary and middle school students from rural areas across Korea the valuable opportunity to study art by visiting Germany and France, to give a cultural performance and to learn about art and culture. In December, the participants in this study program will give a performance at the Seogwipo Arts Center to show off the skills that they have recently acquired. In addition, as a follow-up to the previous study visit to Europe, the Foundation is organizing a joint performance by the Seogwipo Youth Orchestra and the Shanghai Youth Orchestra that is being held in Shanghai in late December. These opportunities are intended to promote cultural diversity and to encourage cross-cultural communication so that young students can become more proactive in planning their future.
