The
Exhibition of Tunisian Mosaics and Handicrafts Masterpieces will provide visitors with a unique opportunity to view the motifs and traditional handicrafts that derived from ancient Roman influences in North Africa. Remnants of ancient Roman civilization can still be found throughout Tunisia, including the intricate patterns of mosaic craftwork that reveal the customs, love stories, playfulness, commerce, sports, academics, history, and mythology of their creators, offering a glimse into the origins of western civilization.
In addition, the exhibition will feature artfully rendered posters that capture the everyday life of Tunisia’s people of the past, along with mosaic works uncovered from various archaeological sites around Tunisia. Visitors will also be greeted with photographs of handicrafts by contemporary artists from Tunisia and around the world.
Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Seoul, the upcoming exhibition will provide those in Korea with a rare opportunity to become acquainted with the culture and arts of Tunisia. We invite you to see for yourself the richness of Tunisian culture that reflects an adaptation of Roman influences by local artisans.
