KF Vision Sharing Program for the National Development of Central America and the Caribbean
Five ministers and vice ministers of Central American and Caribbean countries will come to Korea in August at the invitation of the KF for its Vision Sharing Program for the National Development of Central America and the Caribbean. While in Korea, the guests will learn about the nation’s experience achieving economic growth and share their visions for national development with Korean government officials. Since it was launched in 2011, the program has contributed to forming the foundation for strengthening economic cooperation between Korea and Latin American countries by inviting more than 40 high-ranking officials of the region to Korea.
In 2015, Nathalie Cely Suárez, Coordinating Minister of Production, Employment and Competitiveness of Ecuador, participated in the program and declared the start of negotiations for the Korea-Ecuador Strategic Economic Cooperation Agreement (SECA). In 2017, five foreign ministers and vice ministers were invited to Korea in conjunction with the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC). This year’s invitees will hail from government offices in charge of major development strategies and they will attend lectures and seminars, hold talks with experts, and visit industrial facilities, thus seeking to promote cooperation between Korea and their region.
