KF x K-Arts PUBLIC MEDIA PROJECT
한국국제교류재단은 한국예술종합학교 AT랩과 협력하여 2024년 1월 25일부터 KF XR 갤러리에서 개최 중인 < k=xy:시공의 너머 > 전에 한국예술종합학교에서 수학하는 젊은 작가들이 실감형 콘텐츠로 풀어낸 동시대 K-컬쳐 관련 작품들을 함께 선보인다.
The Korea Foundation (KF), in collaboration with the Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts) Art and Technology (AT) Lab, proudly presents K=XY: Transcending Space and Time at the KF XR Gallery, starting January 25, 2024. This exhibition showcases the works of young artists from K-Arts, interpreting contemporary K-culture through immersive media.
KF XR 갤러리 미디어월 앞에 선 우리는 스크린 속 우리의 이야기를 보는 동시에 검은 화면에 비친 자신의 모습을 마주하게 된다. 언어가 우리의 삶과 사회구조를 반영하는 도구이듯 한국예술종합학교 학생들은 실감형 컨텐츠라는 형태의 언어를 통해 동시대 K-컬쳐에 관한 각자의 이해를 풀어낸다.
본 프로젝트의 'K'는 KF 차세대 전문가를 위한 한국미술 워크숍 참여자, 한국외국어대학교 외국인 학생들의 협력을 통해 내부와 외부가 뒤집힌, 경계 없는 글로벌 관점에서의 'Korea'의 의미로서 기능한다. 내부적 시선과 외부적 시선이 만나 자아낸 이야기는 우리 사회를 반영한 작업으로 재생산되고, 이렇게 생산된 작업은 거대한 미디어월 그리고 가상현실 장치들을 통해 확장된다.
관람객들은 빛의 파티클들의 인터랙티브적 요소를 매개로, 가상과 현실이 뒤섞인 새로운 차원을 만나고, 동시에 작가들의 작품은 관람객의 경험을 매개로 실재 세계의 문화와 감응하며 새로운 'K'를 만들 수 있는 계기로 작용한다. 본 프로젝트를 통해 새롭게 확장된 '우리 (Uri)'의 모습을 관찰할 수 있기를 기대한다.
As we stand before the media wall of the KF XR Gallery, we are greeted by a dual experience: our own stories unfolding on the screen and our reflections gazing back at us from the dark surface. This interplay mirrors how language embodies our life and social structures. Students from the Korea National University of Arts have harnessed immersive media as a new linguistic medium to articulate their unique perspectives on contemporary K-culture. In this project, "K" signifies Korea from a boundary-less, global viewpoint, where the interior and exterior are flipped over through collaborations with participants of the KF Korean Art Workshop for Next-Generation Experts and international students from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The resulting works, born from a fusion of internal and external viewpoints, reflect and reinterpret our society. These artistic s are amplified through a vast media wall and virtual reality installations, inviting visitors into a blended dimension of virtuality and reality, interwoven with interactive light particles. In this space, the artists' creations not only resonate with the tangible culture of our world, mediated by the experiences of the visitors, but also become conduits for new interpretations and understandings of "K." This project beckons us to delve into and cherish the evolving essence of uri (we) by showcasing its newly expanded form.
